Learning, a hallmark of the early formative years, is also considered a lifelong process. Increasingly, online resources are being developed to meet the needs of elderly learners. We examine what is being done to ensure that the Web is an accessible medium for this rapidly growing segment of the population.

John A. Boeglin, PhD, is an associate professor of psychology and the ICT Coordinator at Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta. He is interested in various topics relating to teaching and learning effectiveness and is actively involved in the use of online and videoconferencing technologies for on- and off-campus delivery.
 
France Pelletier’s interest in distance education spans more than twelve years, some of which were devoted to obtaining a Master of Distance Education diploma. Since then, she has continued working in the increasingly expanding field of distance education and is presently Distance Education Coordinator at Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta.
