This interactive session will discuss the lessons learned by the Community Learning Campus, a joint venture of Olds College and Chinook’s Edge School Division, together with Bell Canada, in developing a distributed learning model that can be used in combination with classroom courses, traditional distance learning courses, or to create a wholly virtual classroom.

About…

Dot Negropontes is the Executive Director of the Community Learning Campus, a joint venture between Olds College and Chinook’s Edge School Division. She has been seconded from her role as assistant superintendent of Chinook’s Edge to work with the CLC team to bring the CLC from concept to reality.
 
Jim Gibbons is the Superintendent of Chinook’s Edge School Division. He serves as the Vice Chair of the CLC Governance Team and Chair of the CLC Executive Committee.
 
Pat Bidart is Associate Vice President of Academics at Olds College. She serves as a member of the CLC Executive Committee.
 
Brian Cooper is Bell Technology Chair or Rural eLearning and Innovation. He works with the CLC team in the development of the Bell Innovation Centre located in the Bell eLearning Centre on the Olds College campus. His role is to provide leadership in the technical aspects of eLearning.
