Position Title: Integrity and Learning Systems Manager
Reports to: Owen Baker, Integrity Management
Effective Date: June 1st, 2008
Position Summary
The Integrity and Learning Systems Manager is responsible for the development and maintenance of the work-related databases.
The Integrity and Learning Systems Manager provides the leadership and management for the various project teams in the development, delivery, and support of computer-based, multimedia, network-delivery course materials, and user support services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the design of learning activities using appropriate technologies and for multimodal delivery.
- Coordinate the design and creation of multimedia materials.
- Analyze existing instructional materials to identify potential areas for design modification using various technologies.
- Coordinate the improvements to the curriculum development process in developing new design methodologies.
- Provide technical design support for electronic curriculum development and delivery.
- Analyze multimedia projects, determine scope, and estimate project development needs.
- Analyze current website and design and implement areas for improvement in consultation with Integrity Management team members.
- Manage the curriculum development activities associated with implementing strategies for maintaining online materials.
- Manage the administration of the learning management system.
- Create and maintain HTML, XML and other multimedia files.
- Coordinate with other team members on how to use the learning management software.
- Provide technical and instructional design advice and support for the Integrity Management team members.
- Provide the leadership in the research and evaluation of the instructional merit of learning management systems, software and applications.
- Manage the Spectral, GEMS, KITS and other work-related databases in ensuring that the data is current and is readily accessible to all employees.
Other Requisite Competencies include:
- Communications – Works with the Integrity Management team on an ongoing basis during each curriculum development project. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a member of a team are essential.
- Complexity – Works in a rapidly changing environment following and assisting in the development of procedures for multimodal course development. Flexible, rapid, and appropriate responses to emergent issues are required with the context of a heavy workload. Work entails a substantial depth of analysis to understand, combine, and apply appropriate instructional and technological innovations, including, but not limited to, programming, computer-based training; multimedia and hypermedia; authoring languages and tools; graphics and animation; courseware and groupware. Must learn and evaluate computer software products, delivery media, and networking and conferencing systems to develop and maintain an acceptable level of expertise.
- Planning – This position will assist in establishing criteria, formulating projects, and assessing the effectiveness of solutions to problems in adapting instructional methods to new technologies. Must be able to work on or oversee several projects simultaneously.
Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of a Post-Secondary degree, preferably in Computer Science or equivalent, with five or more years work experience in Web-based instructional design or educational technology.
- Proficient in design principles for Web sites, Windows, and XHTML.
- Other technical skills include proficiency in WebCT, Flash, streaming audio/video and/or other Web-related software.
- Essential non-technical skills include working effectively within a team in a project-based environment.

Contract for an Instructional Designer at Grande Prairie Regional College
Grande Prairie Regional College is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to work with the Instructional Design Team and the Physical Education, Athletics and Kinesiology subject matter experts to design and develop 10 online courses for the Fitness Leadership specialization in Older Adult Fitness and Wellness Diploma program. Eight of the courses are to be offered by September, 2009 and the remaining 2 by January, 2010.
Applicants must have a Master's Degree in a related field and six months’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Current proficiency in computer applications relating to instructional technologies is required including Blackboard and/or Moodle experience.
This is a part-time contract position that will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. The contract is for $39,000.00 (including GST). Relocating would not be necessary for this could be a Telework position.

Key responsibilities of the Coordinator, START Program:
- Ensure effectiveness and sustainability of START program goals, through the support of students’ skill development and knowledge acquisition, relative to technology and people
- In support of the core mandate of the START program:
- Create and maintain a plan for technology training and development for students
- Create and maintain a customer service training and development plan, including liaison with area supervisors where students are deployed
- Create and deliver in-class workshops for faculty and students, as required
- Train and support START students in the delivery of in-class workshops
- Ensure effective service delivery in student drop in lab
- Recruit for, promote, and coordinate all aspects of the START Program
- Provide supervision, feedback, and evaluation to individual START students
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date administrative, human resource, and record-keeping functions, including payroll, and budget
- Manage the START budget in conjunction with ADC Manager
- Develop and maintain currency of START website and learning materials (e.g. tutorials)
- Participate in events (e.g. College Open House, New Student Orientation), as required
- Maintain currency of the START drop-in lab database
- Assess/maintain currency of equipment and resources, in conjunction with ADC Manager
- Attend report and departmental meetings and planning retreats, as required
- Generate annual summaries and reports, as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree preferred – BA, BEd., Communications, or a related field
- 18 to 24 months experience working in a post-secondary environment is an asset
- Previous experience in supervision and training/staff development required
- Experience in an environment with a customer service focus is an asset
- Demonstrates superior organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrates knowledge and skill in building and maintaining a high-functioning team.
- Highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

NorQuest College is seeking an enthusiastic individual to play a lead role in supporting the College’s online course delivery tools. In this role you will be responsible for the technical support and training of students and staff as well as the administration and maintenance of these applications. You will be a key member of the team that supports eLearning at the College.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting and training for students and faculty engaged in eLearning onsite and at a distance.
- Responsible for WebCT and Elluminate Live! administration including:
